String Theory: Too Many Dimensions!

In the last post, we talked about the string theory being a candidate for the theory of everything, but there is a slight issue

The math in the string theory works out perfectly, but it requires 10 dimensions. In other words, the string theory perfectly explains a universe that is made of 10 dimensions. But our universe has just four dimensions, length, width, height, and time.

To resolve this issue, scientists apply the theory to a hypothetical model universe that has 10 dimensions, and then they try to get rid of the extra six dimensions to explain our universe. Alas, there has been no success yet. But it still is the closest theory to a theory of everything. And let's hope some future scientist finally cracks it.
